- What owners run intoHeat during long video recording, battery drain from the always-on display, storage that fills with high-resolution photos and video, and Dynamic Island quirks in apps.
- How to approach a faultTurn off Always-On Display and ProMotion limits as a test, check Battery Health, restart and update iOS. Back up before any reset.
- Camera careWipe the lens, remove thick cases that press on the camera and avoid shooting video in a hot place for long, which makes the phone warm.
- SupportApple Support offers diagnostics and repair with the serial number from Settings, General, About.
- Always-On and ProMotionThe iPhone 14 Pro's display refreshes between one and 120 times a second depending on what is on screen, and the always-on mode dims the lock screen rather than switching it off. Both save power when used well, but a bright wallpaper, widgets that update often and notifications shown on the lock screen reduce the saving. If battery life disappoints, turn off Always-On Display in Settings, Display and Brightness, as a test, and choose a dark wallpaper.
- Camera and storageThe 48-megapixel main camera shoots 12-megapixel photos by default, and the 48-megapixel ProRAW option makes very large files, so check Settings, Camera, Formats if the phone fills quickly. Photos in the iCloud setting Optimize Storage keep smaller copies on the phone. Use Settings, General, iPhone Storage to see which apps hold the most data and offload the ones you rarely use.
- Always-On and wallpapersThe Always-On Display keeps the lock screen visible at low brightness, and it dims further when the phone is face down, in a pocket or in Sleep Focus. If you find it distracting, you can hide the wallpaper and notifications on it in Settings, Display and Brightness, Always On Display. Widgets on the lock screen that refresh often use extra battery, so keep to the ones you need.
- Dynamic Island and Face IDThe Dynamic Island is the pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen, and it shows live activities such as a timer, a call or music playback. If the Island seems unresponsive, restart the phone and update iOS. Face ID uses the same cutout, and a case or a screen protector that covers the area can block it, so choose one with a clear cutout. Clean the top of the screen with a soft dry cloth, and re-enrol Face ID with an alternate appearance if you wear a mask or glasses often.
