  After three years the battery has aged, and the phone warms during charging and in camera use. Check Settings, Battery for usage, avoid charging in a case and consider a battery replacement if the phone shuts off early.
• Cameras and storage
  The 7 Pro's telephoto camera and its video features fill storage quickly. Check Settings, Storage and use Google Photos to free space once images are backed up. A phone with less than a tenth of its storage free slows down, so clear it before troubleshooting other faults, and keep the camera lens clean for sharp pictures.
• Keeping an aging flagship comfortable
  At three years old, the 7 Pro benefits from simple housekeeping: remove apps you do not use, restart weekly, keep the lens clean and install each monthly patch. Lower the refresh rate to 60 hertz if the battery is short, set adaptive brightness and use Battery Saver on long days. A fresh battery from Google or a repair shop is often the best money you can spend on the phone.
• Spares and accessories
  Because the 7 Pro is a popular phone, replacement screens, batteries and charging ports are easy to find, and Google's own repair partners sell genuine parts. Cases made for the 7 Pro fit the 2022 body only, so check the camera bar shape before ordering. A wireless charger that supports Qi works, and a bright-screen protector made for the curved edge keeps touches accurate. Use a good cable and charger to preserve the battery, and keep the phone out of hot cars where the battery ages quickly. If you move to a new Pixel later, the Quick Switch cable copies everything across, including settings, so the old phone can be wiped and sold with confidence.
