An ADT outdoor camera of the OC810 or OC835 type connects to the Wi-Fi network of your gateway or router, and its Wi-Fi problems are a weak signal at the camera, a changed network or interference. The camera's LED tells you the state: a continuous blink means it has lost the wireless link and is trying to reconnect, which Zions Security's guide on offline ADT cameras describes. If the camera cannot recover on its own, the recommended steps are to power cycle it, move the gateway closer to the camera if you can, and, if that fails, reset the camera and enrol it again.
The checks in more detail
An outdoor camera is usually far from the router, behind a wall, so check the signal at its position with a phone, and add an extender or a node nearer if it is weak. Brick, stucco, foil insulation and metal siding block Wi-Fi, so a camera on the other side of such a wall may need the access point moved. After a router or password change the camera must be told the new network, which usually means a reset and a new enrolment. Check that the router broadcasts a band the camera supports, and that the camera is not on a guest network.
Hidden networks and networks that require a web login do not work for cameras. Interference from microwaves, baby monitors and neighbors' networks can drop a 2.4 GHz link, so change the router's channel to 1, 6 or 11. Restart the router and the gateway, router first. Keep the camera's firmware current, which the system does on its own. If the camera works near the router and fails at its position, the cure is the signal. If it fails near the router too, the camera or its configuration is at fault, so reset and enrol again. The installer can also relocate the gateway.
Pulse cameras register with the system's gateway, and an outdoor camera that drops out may be struggling to reach the gateway and not the router at all. Zions Security's guidance for offline ADT cameras puts the gateway at the center: move the gateway nearer the camera if you can, power cycle the camera, and re-enrol it if it still fails. Keep a note of where the gateway sits, because an outdoor camera on the far side of a garage often needs the gateway moved a room closer. Check that the camera's LED is no longer blinking continuously after the move, which is ADT's sign that it has found its connection again.

Likely causes of “ADT Outdoor Camera will not stay connected to Wi-Fi”, and how to tell them apart
- 1
A gateway too far from the camera
What separates it The LED blinks continuously
How to confirm Move the gateway closer or add a repeater
- 2
A wall or garage between them
What separates it The signal fails at the camera
How to confirm Reposition the gateway
- 3
A changed router
What separates it The camera cannot re-enrol
How to confirm Reset and enrol again

Interference on 2.4 GHz
What separates it Drops at set times
How to confirm Set the router channel to 1, 6 or 11
- 5
A faulty camera
What separates it It fails near the gateway too
How to confirm Ask the installer to test it
Before you touch a setting
Record this first — changing settings destroys the evidence
- The LED pattern
- The signal at the camera
- Whether the router or password changed
- The wall material between camera and router

Model-specific
What is true of this model and not of its siblings
- Walls
- Brick and metal block Wi-Fi.
- Channels
- 1, 6 and 11 avoid overlap.
Stop boundary
When this stops being a self-service repair
- !If the camera fails near the router, reset and enrol it again
- !If it still fails, ask the installer to check it
