What the Deco light is telling you

A TP-Link Deco mesh unit has no screen, so its single LED is the whole message. Most Deco models follow the same pattern. Pulsing blue means the unit is ready for setup, solid blue means setup is in progress, and solid yellow means it is starting up, which usually takes one to two minutes. Pulsing yellow means the unit is resetting.

Red is the color to take seriously. A solid red light means the Deco lost its internet connection or hit an error, and a pulsing red light on a satellite unit means it has lost the link to the main Deco. Check the modem and the cable into the main unit before you touch the satellite, and move the satellite closer to the main Deco for a test.

Green or white, depending on the model, is the healthy state when it is solid. A pulsing green or white light means firmware is being installed, so leave the unit powered until it settles.

No light at all is a separate problem from any color. It points at power: the adapter, the outlet or the cable, because the LED cannot show a state without power.

What does a pulsing blue Deco light mean?

The Deco is ready for setup in the app.

What does solid red mean on a Deco?

The Deco lost its internet connection or hit an error; check the modem and the cable first.

Why is my Deco not lit at all?

No LED means no power, so check the adapter, the outlet and the cable.
