Ring Battery Doorbell Plus does not respond to voice control

A doorbell that does not appear after discovery usually means the Ring account was not linked, so open the skill's settings and link it again, or the doorbell is offline in Ring, which stops Alexa showing it. Check the doorbell is online in the Ring app first.

For the live view on an Echo Show, the doorbell must be online with a good signal, and a Battery Doorbell Plus wakes from sleep to stream, so there is a short delay of several seconds before the picture appears, and that is normal. Ring explains that live view uses battery, so heavy use drains the battery faster. If the announcements do not play, check in the Alexa app under the device's settings that the doorbell press and motion notifications are switched on, that Do Not Disturb is off on the Echo and that the Echo is connected to Wi-Fi.

If you changed your Amazon or Ring password, link the skill again. Remove and rediscover the device if its name changed. Voice control does not need a Ring Protect plan for live view, although recording and history need the plan. A command that Alexa does not understand may need the exact device name, so rename the doorbell in the Ring app to something simple such as Front Door. Keep the Echo's software updated. If the skill reports a problem, disable and enable it, then sign in again.
