LG LTCS20020 top-freezer refrigerator. LG's own specification for this model states no ice and water dispenser: ice is a manual tray or the optional LK65C ice-maker kit, so dispenser, plumbed ice and water-filter symptoms do not apply to it as sold.

LG refrigerators: cooling, ice, filters and noise
A warm refrigerator usually has blocked vents, a packed shelf, a dirty coil or a door that does not seal. An ice maker that stops needs the water supply, the filter and the freezer temperature checked. A slow water dispenser needs a new filter. A noise may be the compressor, the fan or a defrost cycle, and a rattle can be a loose drip tray.
The label with the model and serial is inside the fresh food compartment. LG's support asks for both. Replace the filter about every six months and clean the coils twice a year.
LG refrigerators with an ice maker in the door or the freezer use a linear or a standard compressor, and some sounds are normal, such as a whir as the compressor changes speed and a click as a defrost cycle starts. Keep a note of any sound that is new, loud or persistent, and check that the refrigerator is level and that nothing touches the back wall. If the refrigerator shows a code, the code's page in the error code section gives the checks, and the service line will ask for the model and serial from the label.
A refrigerator should hold the fresh food section near 37 degrees Fahrenheit and the freezer near 0. Put a thermometer in a glass of water on the middle shelf and another in the freezer, leave them for a day and compare with the settings. If the readings are off, check the vents inside and the seals on the doors. Keep the area behind and above the refrigerator clear so that the coils can shed heat, and avoid putting a hot dish inside, which makes the compressor work hard.
If the water dispenser is slow, replace the filter and check that the water line behind the refrigerator is not kinked. If the ice maker has stopped, check that the arm is down, the freezer is cold and the bin is seated.
LG's French door refrigerators may include a craft ice maker, a door-in-door panel and an InstaView window on some models. Each is a feature with its own settings, and the manual explains how to turn it on and off. If a feature does not seem to work, check that it is switched on in the display, and that the refrigerator's door is closed fully while it runs.
