Troubleshooting an Acer laptop
Acer laptops share a few tools: Acer Care Center installs BIOS, driver and app updates, and runs hardware checks; F2 at the Acer logo opens BIOS Setup; F12 opens the boot menu if you enable it in BIOS; and Alt and F10 starts Acer's recovery on many models. The model number is on the label under the base and in Settings, System, About. Acer lines differ: Swift is the thin line, Aspire the everyday line, Nitro and Predator the gaming lines with larger fans and their own performance modes.
For a laptop that will not start, charge it for 30 minutes, hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power and try again; some models also have a small battery reset hole on the underside.
