Brother printers report problems two ways: a short message on the display such as Replace Toner or Jam Rear, and an error code on a network report such as TS-07 for a wireless setup that cannot find a router with WPS. Start with the message the printer shows and the model number on the front or back label, because Brother uses different codes on laser, inkjet and label models.
A printer that will not connect to Wi-Fi is usually the router: confirm the network name and password, make sure the router is on the 2.4 GHz band for older models and use WPS only if the router supports it. The WLAN report, printed from the network menu, lists the exact error and is the most useful thing to quote to support.
Brother printers show short messages on the display and codes such as TS-07, Print Unable 46 and Size Mismatch. The messages usually fall into groups: paper size and tray problems, ink or toner faults, a jam, a network problem and a hardware error. A Size Mismatch means the paper in the tray is not the size the print job asked for, and TS codes are Brother's troubleshooting codes that point to the cause.
Check the paper tray size setting, reseat the ink or toner cartridges, clear any paper from the path and restart the printer by unplugging it for a minute. For network messages, print a network report from the printer and check the Wi-Fi. A hardware error that remains needs Brother support.
