Electrolux appliance error codes

Electrolux washers, dryers, dishwashers and ovens show codes made of letters and numbers, such as E20 for a drain fault on many washers. Check the model label, since codes differ between product lines, and clear the simple causes first: a blocked drain hose or filter for drain codes, a closed tap or kinked hose for fill codes, and an unbalanced load for spin faults. Power the appliance off for a few minutes to reset the control.

Electrolux also sells under the Frigidaire name in North America, and the two brands share many codes, so a code that is missing here may be on the Frigidaire page. Washers commonly report water and drain faults, dryers report heating and airflow codes, dishwashers report fill, drain and heater faults, and ovens report sensor and door-lock codes. Write down the code and the cycle stage it appeared in, because the same code can come from a clogged filter or a failed part and the stage helps tell which.

Safe checks come before any part swap: look at the drain filter and hose, the water taps and inlet screens, the door or lid latch, and the vent on a dryer. Switching the appliance off at the breaker for a few minutes clears a one-off glitch, but a code that returns means the cause is still there. Anything involving a heating element, a pump motor, a door-lock assembly or the control board belongs to a technician.

When a code appears, photograph the display, note the model, product number and serial from the rating plate and describe what you did before the code appeared.

A dryer code about airflow will not be fixed by anything you do to the washer. A simple note of each machine's model, product number and serial in your phone saves time, and the same record is useful when you sell the home or claim on insurance.
