  AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, 4.20 TFLOPS AMD Radeon-based GPU (more than double the standard PS4's 1.84 TFLOPS), GDDR5 8GB, internal 1TB hard drive, BD 6xCAV/DVD 8xCAV drive. External dimensions approx. 295 x 55 x 327mm, mass approx. 3.2kg, maximum rated power 310W, Bluetooth 4.0.
• Model — PS4 Pro (CUH-7000)
  The enhanced PS4 with a stronger GPU for 4K (checkerboard-rendered) and HDR output on supported games, 1TB hard drive, and a Blu-ray/DVD drive. An older-generation console still supported for online on many games.
• Storage — hard drive (upgradeable)
  It uses a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, which you can replace with a larger drive or an SSD to add space and speed — unlike the PS5's soldered SSD. Storage-full is solved by swapping the drive or deleting games.
• Network
  Dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet; for slow downloads a wired connection helps, and PS4 downloads are slower than PS5 regardless.

  Supports 4K UHD over HDMI 2.0b using checkerboard rendering, though its Blu-ray drive does not play Ultra HD Blu-ray discs.

• Hardware
  Model CUH-7000, launched November 2016 with 1 TB of storage, a 16 nm processor and the CPU clock raised from 1.6 to 2.13 GHz. HDMI is 2.0b with HDCP 2.2.
• 4K and HDR blank screens
  Early owners reported blank screens or a console that marked their 4K TV as unable to show 3840 by 2160, on LG, Samsung, Sony, Philips and Vizio sets. Older Premium High Speed HDMI cables caused flicker.
• Fan noise
  Noise and overheating reports began within weeks of launch. Continuous 4K use makes it run hotter, and dust in the vents and fan is the usual cause of a loud console that then shuts off.
• Hotter than the Slim
  The PS4 Pro's faster GPU makes it run hotter than the PS4 Slim, and repair shops find it more sensitive to dust and dried thermal paste. A full internal clean and new paste typically settles both the noise and the overheating.
• Blue Light of Death
  A Pro that flashes blue and never starts often has solder joints under the processor that have cracked from heat stress, which is a board repair.
