What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Model — PS5 Pro (CFI-7000)
- The enhanced PS5 with a larger GPU and PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) AI upscaling for higher-fidelity 4K and higher frame rates. Around 2TB SSD and Wi-Fi 6E. It runs the same games as a standard PS5, just at higher quality on 'Pro Enhanced' titles.
- No built-in disc drive
- Like the Digital Editions, the PS5 Pro ships with NO built-in disc drive — the same detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive that fits the PS5 Slim is sold separately and clips on. So a disc/drive problem only applies if you added that drive; without it, this is a download-only console.
- Storage & network
- The large internal SSD holds more games; it also takes an M.2 NVMe SSD in the expansion slot. Wi-Fi 6E and Gigabit Ethernet — for download/online issues, a wired connection is the most reliable.

Questions that only have an answer for the PlayStation 5 Pro
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
Does my PS5 Pro play disc games?+
Only if you added the detachable disc drive — the PS5 Pro ships with no built-in drive, exactly like a Digital Edition. Sony sells the same clip-on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive that fits the PS5 Slim; attach it and the Pro reads discs, otherwise it is download-only. So a 'won't read discs' problem only applies once you have fitted that drive.
