CPSC-sourced recall and safety-notice library

Recall and safety-notice lookup by model number

This is a safety-notice layer distinct from the error-code library: a recall is a manufacturer-issued notice tied to a date and a specific model range, not a diagnostic display. Every record here cites the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's own recall number and the manufacturer's current remedy page. A model not listed here is not proven recall-free — search CPSC's own database directly at cpsc.gov/Recalls for anything this library does not yet cover.

How to check whether a product has been recalled

A recall is a safety notice issued by a manufacturer, usually with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and it names the models and the dates of manufacture that are affected. To check your own product, find the full model number and the serial number on the data label, then compare them with the notice. A recall that covers one model does not apply to a similar product from the same brand, and a model that is not listed here is not proven safe, since this library covers only some notices.

If your model is affected, stop using the product if the notice says so, and follow the remedy it gives, which might be a free repair, a replacement part or a refund. Do not try to repair a recalled product yourself. The CPSC's own database is the place to search for notices that are not listed here. Register your appliances with the maker so that you hear about recalls directly.

What should I do if my appliance is recalled?

Follow the notice. If it tells you to stop using the product, do so and contact the manufacturer for the remedy.

Does a recall apply to every product from the brand?

No. It names specific models and dates, so check your model and serial number against the notice.
