Nintendo Switch console error codes: internet connection and network setup codes
Nintendo Switch console codes as Nintendo Support lists them, each with its meaning and the first safe check.
Codes beginning with 2110 report a problem with the internet connection or network setup, and the digits after the dash narrow down whether the console could not find the network, could not reach the internet or lost the connection partway. Codes in the 2002 and 2122 families and the long alphanumeric codes such as 2-ALZAA-0014 are also about connections, and many of them are fixed on the router rather than the console.

Open recordSwitch internet and network codes: where to start
Start with the checks that cover most cases: restart the console, restart the router, move the Switch closer to it, and try the console's connection test in System Settings, Internet. If another device works on the same network, the fault is the console's connection; if nothing works, call the provider. Try the router's 2.4 GHz band if the console cannot see the 5 GHz one, and connect the console to a phone's hotspot to test whether the problem is the network itself.
Because many of these codes are really about the home network, a few steps cover most of them: restart the console, restart the router and modem, move the Switch closer, and test with a phone hotspot to see whether the network or the console is at fault. A wired connection through a LAN adapter with the dock removes Wi-Fi as a variable. Check that the router is not blocking the console with a firewall or a security setting, and update the console software. Write down the full code before searching, since the digits after the dash narrow it down.
If only one network fails, forget it in the console's internet settings and enter the password again, and try a different DNS setting if the router's is slow. A code that follows the console to every network points to the console's hardware.
What does a 2110 error on a Switch mean?
It is a connection or network setup error. Restart the console and router, move closer and run the connection test.
Does a network error mean the Switch is faulty?
Usually not. The router, signal strength or provider is the more common cause, so test the console on another network.
Should I use a LAN adapter with the Switch?
A wired connection is the most stable test. It needs a supported LAN adapter and the dock.
What if only my home network gives errors?
Test on a hotspot. If it works there, the router or its settings are the cause.
